I've decided to try an experiment. As I've recently stopped using twitter because the Space Karen sucks, I've taken up an interest in revitalizing Web 1.0. A friend pointed me to the yesterweb and I remembered web rings and geocities pages and YTMND and all the other stuff about the 90s/early 2000s web that made it novel and fun and seem full of promise, rather than full of doom.
So this is me carving out my little space. I plan to write about stupid nonsense here, just like I did on twitter, like I once did on myspace and google+ and all the other places, many now gone forever, that were online communities that have been bulldozed by modern social media which will again be bulldozed by the next wave of shitty consumerism.
I've been teaching myself Rust lately, and I'm less enamored than I used to be with CMS apps like WordPress and Drupal. So I found a static site generator called zola the result is the site you see here. Simple. Reminiscent of the personal web. and with plenty of room to grow through both improvements to the engine and a very flexible template system.
So, that's the post.
